Sometimes you just need a change


Our Solas Respite provides flexible Respite Care for people with disabilities in order to give them - or their carers - a comfortable and varied break. Life can be very exhausting, especially if you are disabled and depend on another person to help with your needs. For both sides it is important to change scenery from time to time.


Solas Respite is a small nice bungalow overlooking the village of Shillelagh and part of Coolattin Wood. Our guests arrive weekly or forth nightly. We never have more than 5 people on holiday, that's the reason why we can react flexibly upon individual needs and wishes.


Nobody should feel strange or alone! Our 7 staff members and volunteers do their best to create a trusting, family atmosphere where you can relax, feel comfortable and enjoy your holidays.


We try to offer as much entertainment as possible. Sometimes it's a day trip to the seaside or we get dressed up for dinner in a nice restaurant, sometimes it's dancing and drinking in the local pub or we just gather around the fireplace to play bingo. We go shopping, arrange picnics, cook together… The range of possibilities is wide, but it´s all great fun and laughter.
