"For a long time I used to live in a hospital
where I shared my room with 6 or 7 people. Here in Ardeen I have my
own little bungalow and I thank God for this bit of private space!"
James Mooney, Multiple Sclerosis
Ardeen Cheshire Home wants to be
a home rather than an institution. We have a healthy community
and all residents contribute to its functioning and development. We
accommodate 30 people at the moment. Some of them decided to share their
room, others prefer to inhabit their own little separated bungalow nearby.
It's a choice.
We employ about 30 full time staff, who
provide their support in different shifts 24hours per day. In addition
we have a lot of volunteers from all parts of Europe. That's why we
can offer a variety of activities. Residents rarely have difficulty
in finding a helpful companion for their individual plans.
Our Service is financed
by the local Health Board and people living here also contribute. We
are lucky: This is enough to make ends meet. But: For extra expenses
(equipment, service, education, activities, technology, recreation,
etc.) we depend on fundraising - that means your support!
