Shillelagh is small village in County Wicklow about 60 miles south of Dublin. The nearest bigger towns are Carlow and Gorey. Shillelagh was built in the 17th century, is surrounded by beautiful mountains and has still the atmosphere of an untouched place.

The people are relaxed and easy-going and like to socialise in one of the three local pubs. As a volunteer you can have a lot of fun in Shillelagh but if you are looking for urban distraction, trendy clubs and nightlife, you should make a different choice!

Shillelagh is not a place for shopping, but you can get all necessaries in the two supermarkets. We even have a little "gift and electric" shop, a local post office, where you can send letters and develop your photographs, a cash dispenser and last but not least: a late night take away.
